JOB TITLE
Client, Sector and International Growth Assistant
REPORTING TO
Reports directly to the Head of Clients, Sectors and International for performance, development and achievement of objectives. The role works under the guidance of the Senior Clients & Sector Growth Manager for ongoing direction, mentoring and support on the planning, prioritisation and delivery of day-to-day activities and strategic initiatives.
JOB PURPOSE
The Client, Sector & International Growth Assistant plays a key role in supporting the delivery of Brodies' growth strategy by driving client development, sector engagement and international business development initiatives across the firm. Working as part of the Clients, Sectors & International team, the role supports the identification and pursuit of strategic growth opportunities, helping to strengthen client relationships, enhance Brodies' market position and deliver sustainable, profitable growth.
The role holder will work closely with the Head of Clients, Sectors & International, partners and colleagues across the Business Development & Marketing function to coordinate programmes, projects and campaigns that support the firm's client, sector and international priorities.

A key aspect of the role is the coordination and evaluation of client, sector and international activity, providing meaningful reporting, insight and return-on-investment analysis to inform strategic decision-making. The role will also support the development of Brodies' key client programme, client listening initiatives, sector-forward approach and international referral network, while helping to identify opportunities for cross-selling, profile-raising and market engagement.
Working across multiple practice groups, sectors and geographies, the Client, Sector & International Growth Assistant will champion collaboration, knowledge sharing and best practice, fostering a joined-up approach to business development across the firm. As a recognised member of the wider Business Development & Marketing team, they will contribute to embedding a strong client-focused and growth-oriented culture that supports Brodies' continued success, market leadership and long-term ambitions.
CORE TASKS
- Support the Head of Clients, Sector and International to drive the firm's ambitious growth strategy.
- Responsibility for coordinating client, sector and firm-wide reporting for UK and international activity, collating data and feedback to create reports demonstrating ROI that can be used to inform business strategies and decision-making.
- Play a key role in Client Listening Programme, co-ordinating with partners and BD colleagues to target key clients, identifying results and using insight to inform key client and sector development opportunities and trends.
- Embrace technological advances and use of AI to develop new approaches to create client centric improvements across the client lifecycle and develop engagement strategies to enhance client experience and growth.
- Identify market intelligence opportunities and coordinate client and sector targeting activity with business development team that increases our profile in the legal market.
- Support the International Growth and Strategy Manager with building our international network and referral activity, including support on major events.
- Support the development of a strategic key client programme and client plans for priority firm clients.
- Responsibility for co-ordinating client and sector email communications and web presence of client, sector and international team and its activity.
- Identify opportunities for training on client and sector development across the firm and play a key role in coordinating training for business development colleagues.
- Foster cross-practice integration by sharing innovative ideas and encouraging best practices across wider business development and marketing function.
- Support the Client, Sectors and International team as needed on key initiatives and events.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
This is an attractive opportunity for a graduate (or equivalent) with minimum two years commercial experience, looking for a new challenge to build on their existing experience. In addition to proven experience in the above areas of responsibility we seek:
- Graduate or equivalent (plus commitment to, or existing additional professional marketing / business qualifications).
- Enthusiasm to develop an in-depth understanding of the legal markets in the UK and across Europe and beyond (in terms of the market, the deals, the key players, the competition, and the actual financial / commercial structures and approaches involved in this area).
- Experience of dealing with stakeholders across all levels of seniority.
- A proactive approach, creativity, tenacity and energy.
- High attention to detail and strong client (commercial) focus.
SKILLS
- Excellent communication skills - both written and oral. Ability to present to both lawyers and peers.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills - with partners, key associates, and business development and marketing colleagues, clients and suppliers.
- Ability to work to deadlines, juggle multiple projects and manages expectations.
