I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day client service delivery: respond to client queries across channels (email/phone/chat), manage cases end-to-end (logging, prioritisation, SLA management, investigation, resolution), provide clear/proactive updates, and act as an escalation point for client-impacting issues.
  • Build and maintain client service playbooks/runbooks (including escalation paths and response templates), monitor service performance and complaint themes, and implement corrective/preventative actions to improve client outcomes.
  • Ensure operational processes and controls are in place to service the needs of the UK Bank and its clients, and develop new processes from infancy into robust “Business as Usual” ways of working.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the regulatory environment and collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., KYC/Compliance/Tech/Product) to ensure appropriate mechanisms, controls, and system integrations are in place to enhance the client experience.
  • Continually review and improve operational processes, driving a culture of “doing the right thing” with open lines of communication across peers and management.
