WHAT IS ON OFFER
Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Client Services Coordinator to join our team in Rotherham.
This is a brand-new, pivotal position within our site, offering a fantastic chance to make the role your own and drive exceptional service for our clients. As part of our Energy Services division, you will be joining a dynamic, supportive environment helping to facilitate global trade across biomass, alternative fuels, and solid fuel industries. We are looking for someone who can collaborate effectively, add genuine value for our clients, and take real ownership of their work. This role gives the opportunity to liaise between different specialised teams and to obtain a truly detailed understanding of our business.
To set you up for success, your comprehensive onboarding process will give you direct, hands-on exposure to every stage of our operational journey - from initial sampling and prep through to laboratory analysis and final reporting. This complete end-to-end view will empower you to communicate with clients confidently, resolve queries, and maintain service excellence every single day.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Proven experience building, nurturing, and maintaining strong client and external stakeholder relationships.
- Strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to delivering work right first time.
- High level of adaptability and composure, with the ability to solve problems and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal operational teams (Logistics, Prep, Laboratory, and Quality).
- Ability and confidence to communicate effectively between stakeholders, departments, and clients.
- Initiative to use multiple information sources to solve problems effectively.
- Proficiency across IT and G-suite, with an aptitude for learning bespoke operational software.
- Adaptable and confident with supporting through process changes.
Required Competencies
- Outstanding time management and organisational skills under minimal supervision.
- Willingness to gain an end-to-end technical understanding of operational processes, test methods, and reporting standards.
- Curious about the bigger picture - asking “why” and able to connect the dots to ensure a seamless service to our clients.
- Detail oriented and able to spot inconsistencies quickly.

Required Work Experience
- Experience with in a B2B Client facing role.
- Background in a commercial, technical, or fast-paced operational environment would be advantageous.
- Proven track record of managing daily timelines and tracking On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets.
- Invoicing (outbound) experience is beneficial, but not required as full training will be given.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification and experience (a STEM or Business degree is preferable, but practical commercial/technical experience is highly valued).
- Willingness and availability to travel within the UK.
