JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work across a range of therapeutic areas and clients and medical education tactics, including but not limited to: advisory boards, congress symposia, exhibition booths, publications, educational slide decks
- Apply a high level of scientific and commercial expertise gained through extensive knowledge and experience of the industry (including best practice guidelines) and agency services to act as a true partners to clients
- Provide support to SAD/AGD team on client discussions where appropriate
- Provide strategic direction to account team for large, more complex projects
- Implements and maintains quality standards, cost efficiency and best working practices alongside senior account team members across one portfolio
- Overall responsibility for 1 portfolio of approximately £2-2.5million
- Represents the agency at a senior level and works in collaboration with wider leadership team; driving company strategy & performance
- Sets the agenda for Company meetings and proactively contributes
- Promote companywide initiatives and acts as an ambassador for agency both internally and externally
- Portfolio lead for strategic discussions and routine client/agency reviews, driving strategic and tactical organic growth planning internally and with clients. Driving alignment across client teams, ensuring appropriate serving and delivery standards are met and providing internal leadership or accounts and teams
- In collaboration with the DSS/ Senior Scientific Lead, ensures optimum level of resources to service portfolio needs and pre-empts any resourcing issues
- Ensure delivery of both fiscal and operational performance of the portfolio, including the achievement of financial targets, monitoring utilization and recoverability, whilst optimizing retention
- Maintains strong relationships with senior clients and procurement teams and supports with MSA negotiations
- To work with the Senior CSD to set realistic revenue targets and ensures that the company’s overall revenue target is achieved by efficient management of the portfolio revenue targets
- Manages and inputs into the career development of direct line reports closely reviewing goals and objectives
- Line manages 2-5 team members of varying levels up to AGD level
- Provides constructive and actionable feedback for team members from junior to senior levels
- Fosters positive team dynamics, maintenance of the company values, culture and learning and development within the portfolio
- Resolving issues with internal team members with an empathetic yet pragmatic approach
- Oversee and lead across the portfolio in development of new commercial opportunities with new and existing clients
- Identify opportunities for business growth, actively driving new business opportunities and participate in pitches
- Responsible for keeping abreast with key events and innovations in the industry

- Degree Educated
- Strong communication skills
- Experience working within a fast paced environment in medical communications
- Strong attention to detail and good proof reading skills
- Solution focused- suggestion of ideas and recommendations where appropriate
- Able to lead a team effectively and manage upwards, including the establishment and maintenance of quality standards, cost efficiency and working practices
- Demonstrates strong leadership skills
- Able to demonstrate influencing skills and abilities
- Good financial and commercial acumen
- Good understanding of competitor activity and market context
