Firm Overview
BGC Group is a leading global brokerage and financial technology company servicing the financial markets, operating across multiple asset classes, trading venues, and client segments under several brands. The Client Services function combines relationship management, client support, and application data administration into a single, client-facing team. Operating from Canary Wharf as the EMEA hub, the team works closely with Brokers, Product Strategy, Compliance, Operations, and technology teams to deliver high-quality client coverage and seamless multi-asset service across a wide variety of FX, Equity, Fixed Income, Rates and Credit products.
Role Overview
As a Client Services L1, you'll be the first point of contact for internal and external clients using BGC's trading platforms. This is an entry to mid-level, client-facing role that amalgamates three disciplines: client relationship support, first-line client functionality and some technical support, and application data administration. You'll handle day-to-day client queries, provide platform support, and carry out controlled user access and application data tasks under supervision, learning the full trade lifecycle from order entry through to clearing and settlement in a fast-paced, SLA-driven environment. This is first and foremost a client-service role, a genuine desire to help clients matters more than any particular background, and technical skills can be taught.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship & Support
- Act as a first point of contact for trading platform users, delivering courteous, professional and timely client service by phone, email, MS Teams, Bloomberg or in person.
- Support the onboarding of new clients and assist with platform adoption, increasing client awareness of added functionality, features, and available services.
- Provide demonstrations of electronic platforms to end users and encourage clients to provide liquidity and execute trades on screen.
- Update the CRM with any client visits, feedback, and follow-ups, ensuring accurate records are maintained.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
