The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estates Manager to join a leading UK PLC, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of a diverse commercial property portfolio while acting as deputy to the Head of Estates.
This is a high-profile role offering broad exposure across estate management, landlord and tenant matters, asset performance, and stakeholder engagement. You'll play a key role in ensuring the portfolio is managed efficiently, commercially, and in line with business objectives, while providing leadership and support across the wider Estates team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Head of Estates, providing support across strategic and operational estate management activities.
- Manage a varied commercial property portfolio, ensuring assets are effectively maintained, compliant, and delivering value.
- Lead landlord and tenant negotiations, including lease renewals, rent reviews, licences, easements, and wayleaves.
- Instruct and manage external consultants, agents, and legal advisers.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support business objectives.
- Monitor estate budgets, service charges, and property-related expenditure.
- Identify opportunities to optimise estate performance and support wider business initiatives.
- Ensure statutory compliance and effective property risk management across the portfolio.

About You
We're looking for an experienced commercial Estates Manager who can confidently operate in a fast-paced corporate environment and step into a leadership role when required.
You'll ideally have:
- Proven experience managing a commercial property portfolio.
- Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation and commercial property practice.
- Experience negotiating leases and other property agreements.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a commercial focus.
- Membership of MRICS (or working towards) would be advantageous.

Experience working with infrastructure assets, telecommunications property, utilities, or other operational estates would be beneficial, although candidates from broader commercial property backgrounds are equally encouraged to apply.
