Client-Side Project Manager – Major Liverpool Development
Liverpool | £50,000 – £60,000 + Benefits
Are you a Project Manager who would like the opportunity to deliver one of Liverpool’s most exciting new developments – working directly for the client rather than a consultancy?
We are working confidentially with an established Liverpool-based property and development organisation looking to appoint a Client-Side Project Manager to join its team and take a key role in the delivery of major new developments in the city.
Designed to provide an environment for some of the region’s most innovative organisations, the scheme will bring together commercial workspace within a highly sustainable, architecturally distinctive new building. For a Project Manager, it represents a fantastic opportunity to become closely involved in a significant development from the client side and see it through the construction and delivery phases.
The Role
Working as part of a small, experienced client-side team, you will help manage the development from pre-construction through to completion and occupation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Acting as a key client-side representative throughout the project
- Managing and coordinating the external professional team
- Working closely with the main contractor throughout pre-construction and delivery
- Monitoring programme, cost, quality and risk
- Reviewing project progress and reporting to senior stakeholders
- Coordinating design development and ensuring the project continues to meet the client’s requirements
- Supporting procurement, appointments and contract administration
- Managing change and helping resolve issues throughout the construction programme
- Liaising with future occupiers and stakeholders where required
- Supporting commissioning, handover and occupation
- Ensuring the development achieves the required quality, sustainability and operational standards

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why Consider It?
For someone currently working within consultancy, this represents an excellent opportunity to move client-side and become much closer to the strategic decisions behind a major development. Rather than managing a project on behalf of multiple clients, you will become part of the organisation responsible for creating, delivering and ultimately operating the development. You’ll gain exposure to senior stakeholders and the full development process, while playing an important role in delivering a scheme that will contribute to Liverpool’s continued growth. It’s also an opportunity to work for an organisation with a strong long-term commitment to Liverpool and a growing portfolio of innovative commercial property.
