Senior Property Management Surveyor
Multi-Billion-Pound Commercial Property Investment Company | West Midlands
Join a Multi-Billion-Pound Private Property Investor
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Property Management Surveyor to join a privately owned property investment company with a multi-billion-pound portfolio under ownership and management across the UK and Europe.
Founded in the late 1980s, our client has grown into one of the largest private owners of retail and industrial property in the UK. Its portfolio spans shopping centres, neighbourhood retail parades, high street units, retail parks and multi-let industrial estates, backed by a substantial and ongoing acquisition programme and strong year-on-year growth in asset value.
Unlike many landlords, our client manages its multi-billion-pound estate in-house. That hands-on model gives their surveyors real ownership of their portfolios and a direct role in driving income, occupancy and long-term value. This is a genuine client-side role where you will see the results of your decisions reflected in asset performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Taking ownership of the day-to-day property management of a varied commercial portfolio of retail, industrial and mixed-use assets, including residential units above retail parades.
- Acting as the landlord's senior point of contact for occupiers, from national multiples to local independents.
- Driving income through proactive management, including lease renewals, rent reviews, lettings, arrears and service charge oversight.
- Working closely with the in-house asset management, investment, building surveying and finance teams to maximise asset value and minimise void periods.
- Identifying and delivering asset management initiatives, refurbishments and value-add opportunities across the portfolio.
- Overseeing compliance, health and safety, and property maintenance across your assets.
- Supporting the integration of newly acquired assets and portfolios into the managed estate.
- Mentoring and developing junior surveyors and property managers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
