Client Solutions Executive
Location: Portsmouth
Basic salary: £34,000 - £38,000 + Bonus
Are you an ambitious business development professional who enjoys opening doors, building relationships and turning complex business challenges into commercial opportunities?
At STR Group, our Client Solutions Executives engage organisations across specialist STEM industries to understand how they deliver critical projects, overcome resource constraints and access specialist expertise. You’ll be the engine at the top of our sales funnel identifying potential clients, starting meaningful commercial conversations and generating qualified opportunities for our Client Services Directors.
This is broader than traditional recruitment sales. Depending on the client’s objectives, the right solution could involve permanent or contract recruitment, staff augmentation, multi-hire campaigns, project teams, Statement of Work delivery, retained search, or market intelligence and workforce consulting.
Working closely with a Client Services Director, you’ll qualify each opportunity before providing a comprehensive handover for solution design, commercial discussions and deal closure. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of workforce and project delivery models while developing the commercial knowledge and credibility required to become a trusted client advisor.

What will you be doing?
As a Client Solutions Executive, you’ll play an important role in that process by identifying organisations with emerging workforce or delivery challenges and connecting them with the expertise and solutions needed to achieve their goals. You will be:

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
