The Role

To support the operational running of the EMEA Client Strategy team, with a focus on Paris, Belgium and the Luxury, Classics and OMP clusters. The role will provide client strategy support for sales and initiatives, drive client-focused activity, and contribute to short and medium-term planning for prospective, new and existing clients.

Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Auction Sale Management

  • Work closely with the Client Strategy Manager, Luxury, and the Senior Client Strategy Manager, Old Master Group, to ensure sales are sourced, sold and debriefed effectively, with a strong focus on client engagement and follow-up.
  • Sale Targeting: Assist with pre-sale client targeting and interest list keeping through the use of reporting tools, research and knowledge of clients, departments and regions.
  • Catalogues: Manage bespoke catalogue distribution lists and support targeted catalogue campaigns.
  • Debriefs: Prepare post-sale debrief materials and analysis, ensuring appropriate follow-up, tracking and recording of action points and deliverables.
  • New Buyers and Bidders: Track and analyse activity from new buyers and bidders, partnering with Regional Client Strategy teams to develop engagement and retention strategies.
  • Events: Assist with the development of guest lists for key client events and work closely with CRM and Marketing teams on larger-scale events.

General

  • Work collaboratively with peer groups across departments to share intelligence, identify cross-departmental opportunities and support broader Client Strategy objectives.
  • Contribute to strategic projects and initiatives as required.

Client Intelligence Management

  • Work closely with the EMEA Client Strategy team to ensure key client groups are reviewed regularly, actionable opportunities are identified and assigned, and relevant intelligence is accurately recorded within Christie's systems.
  • Data Quality: Ensure client and object information is accurately maintained and updated within relevant systems.
  • Business Getting: Support business-getting efforts by ensuring client intelligence is provided to Specialists and Business Getters in a timely manner. Encourage the capture and sharing of client feedback and market intelligence.
  • Client Reviews: Support client, CTL and regional reviews through the preparation of reports, analysis and resources, and ensure discussions, actions and follow-up are appropriately documented.
  • Pipeline & Opportunity Management: Assist in the identification and tracking of priority client opportunities and business-getting initiatives across the Old Masters, Classics and Luxury clusters. Maintain pipeline reporting, monitor progress against agreed actions, and help coordinate follow-up with Specialists and Business Getters to maximise client engagement and conversion opportunities.

The Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrable experience in a commercial environment with proven experience of manipulating and analyzing large transactional data sets
  • Strong and solid understanding of the auction process
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the auction market
  • Attention to detail with strong accuracy and analytical skills and demonstrably business process driven
  • Ability to manage multiple long- and short-term projects
  • Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
  • Good communicator – verbal & written
  • Able to relationship-manage with key and senior stakeholders
  • Enthusiastic approach to continuous improvement and best practice
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with diplomacy
  • Advanced user of Excel and data systems
  • Flexible team player with demonstrable initiative and creativity
  • Fluency in English, additional European languages a benefit
  • Fast learner and who enjoys continuously improving skillset and uptake of new systems
