Summary
We have a great opportunity to work in our Client Support team. As a member of the team, you will be point of contact with new clients. Your responsibility will be to deliver quality customer service, increasing effectiveness and ease of doing business with us. This is a fantastic opportunity to commence a career in financial services.
Wage
- £16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices
Training
- Course: Customer service practitioner (level 2)
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5.00pm. 40 hours a week
- Start date: Monday 2 November 2026
- Duration: 1 year
- Positions available: 1
Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Provide comprehensive administration support to the Client Support team
- Liaise with relevant parties to chase outstanding documentation required to complete pension checks via, telephone or post
- Responsible for completion of administrative tasks in the relevant area, such as scanning, electronic filing and diary bookings
- Ensure all client records are electronically filed and updated where required
- Contacting clients to retrieve any required information and to answer any queries they may have
- Provide and maintain excellent levels of customer service, providing a prompt and efficient response to enquiries
- Dealing with confidential information
- Support the organisation internally and externally by communicating about MPE’s sustainability values, culture and commitments

Course contents:
- Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
- Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
- Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
- Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.
Training schedule:
- Training will be at North Lindsey College/Doncaster College where you will access a wide range of facilities on offer
- Block release/Day release
- You will undertake the Customer Service Practitioner standard
- You will undertake Functional Skills for English and/or Maths if needed
- You will undertake both on and off-the-job training by a team of industry qualified professionals to give you the best skills, knowledge and experience that will help you become a qualified client support advisor of the future

Desirable qualifications
- GCSE in: MATHS AND ENGLISH (grade 4)
- Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
