Climate Change & Carbon Analyst

As our Climate Change & Carbon Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering our climate ambition across the value chain, supporting our Science Based Targets and helping us reduce emissions in line with the Paris Agreement. You'll work with colleagues across procurement, supply chain, sustainability and external partners to drive positive change and contribute to our long-term environmental goals.

Overview of Role

The Climate Change & Carbon Analyst is responsible for coordinating and delivering Twinings & Ovaltine's Scope 3 climate programme, translating climate strategy into actionable plans and monitoring progress against carbon reduction targets. The role also supports reporting and oversight of Scope 1 and 2 emissions and contributes to broader environmental programmes including biodiversity, deforestation and water stewardship initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of Twinings & Ovaltine's Scope 3 climate programme and carbon reduction roadmap.
  • Partner with commercial, procurement and supply chain teams to drive delivery of climate and nature initiatives.
  • Manage carbon datasets, reporting tools and performance tracking against global carbon reduction targets.
  • Coordinate updates to the company carbon footprint and ensure robust, accurate carbon accounting.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of supply chain carbon reduction projects to help achieve Science Based Targets.
  • Develop tools, resources and training materials to support colleagues across the business. Engage suppliers to identify emissions reduction opportunities and build capability across the supply chain.
  • Support reporting and oversight of Scope 1 and 2 emissions in collaboration with HSE and the Non-Financial Reporting Team.
  • Contribute to wider environmental programmes including biodiversity, deforestation and water-related initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and briefings for senior stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Monitor emerging climate regulations, standards and best practice to support continuous improvement.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential

  • Strong knowledge of climate change, greenhouse gas emissions, biodiversity, deforestation and environmental sustainability topics.
  • Experience measuring carbon footprints and delivering carbon reduction programmes.
  • Good understanding of SBTi requirements, GHG Protocol, ISSB Climate Standards and TCFD frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and engage a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
  • Strong organisation, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.

Desirable

  • Experience developing product carbon footprints and lifecycle assessments.
  • Degree in environmental science, sustainability, agriculture, development studies or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing complex datasets and producing concise reports.
  • Knowledge of agricultural supply chains and farming practices.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Power BI skills.
  • Experience in environmental sustainability or environmental management.
  • Ability to travel internationally when required.
