Warwick Sport is looking for an enthusiastic, safety-focused, and customer-centred Climbing Centre Duty Manager to help deliver an outstanding experience for our members, students, staff, and wider community.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced climbing professional to play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our Climbing Centre.
You will help create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment, lead and support staff, deliver high-quality instruction, and contribute to the ongoing development of our climbing programme.
As Climbing Centre Duty Manager, you will support the delivery of a high-quality climbing service across weekends, evenings, and daytime shifts on a rota basis. You will be responsible for maintaining high operational and safety standards, supporting staff performance, delivering excellent customer service, and helping to grow participation in climbing across the University community.

You will also contribute to a varied climbing programme including:
- Inductions
- Taster sessions
- Parties
- Courses
- The Bear Cubs junior climbing programme
- NICAS-related activity
About You
We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable climbing professional who can combine technical expertise with strong leadership and people skills.
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Significant paid instructing experience within an indoor climbing facility
- Strong knowledge of health and safety in climbing instruction and facility operations
- Experience of working with NICAS
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- The ability to lead, motivate, and support a team in a busy environment
- Experience of staff supervision and development
- Confidence in preparing procedures and health and safety compliant risk assessments
- A commitment to maintaining high standards and delivering a positive customer experience
- A willingness to undertake further training relevant to the role
