Compensation: £30,000 - £32,000 / year
Description
As a Clinical Admin Team Lead, you'll take ownership of two vital services that keep patient care moving - referrals and pathology results and leading the people and processes behind them.
Every referral represents a patient waiting for the next stage of their care. Every pathology result represents critical clinical information that needs to reach the right person, fast. Your job is to make sure both run safely, accurately and without delay, not by doing it all yourself, but by building, supporting and developing a team that can.
You'll lead by example, remaining hands-on and an active member of the team, while your real focus is on developing colleagues, improving how the service operates, and making sure patients never experience delays because paperwork gets stuck.

Key Responsibilities
Leading the team
- Lead the referrals function and pathology results service across multiple GP practices
- Support colleagues with complex referral queries and complex pathology cases
- Monitor workload, quality, turnaround times and performance across both functions
- Enjoy developing people and coaching others while still delivering your own workload
- Combine operational leadership with hands-on delivery
Hands-on delivery
- Personally process referrals and pathology results alongside your team
- Ensure urgent referrals are prioritised appropriately, and urgent pathology results are actioned promptly
Improving the service
- Improve referral processes and documentation
- Improve pathology processes and SOPs
- Work closely with clinicians, GPs and secondary care providers

- You stay calm under pressure
- You have experience processing NHS referrals and/or handling pathology results in primary care
- You understand referral pathways, and the importance of accuracy and prioritisation in pathology results
- You care about getting patients to the right service and the right clinician, quickly
