You will help save and improve lives as you provide administrative support to the team responsible for taking tissue donation referrals. Self-motivated, organised, and open to new ways of working, you will be involved in collating and maintaining tissue donor records.
Assisting Specialist nurses in tissue donation with organising the complex processes in arranging and coordinating donor referrals you will need to be an agile thinker with excellent communication skills. The role will also see you liaise closely with a variety of external stakeholders, Bereavement offices, Coroners, GPs, and Mortuaries.

Main Duties of the Job
This Position Is To Ensure The Provision Of a Highly Professional And Efficient Administration Service For Organ And Tissue Donation And Transplantation (OTDT). The Post Holder Will
- Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Deceased Donation Programme administrative workload to ensure the optimum level of tissue is available for transplantation at any one time.
- Act as a communication link and central contact between internal and external agencies including the Clinical Support Nurse Team (CSNT), the National Referral Centre Specialist Nurses in Tissue Donation (NRC), The Donor Family Care Service for Organ Donation (DFCS), and the Specialist Nurses in Organ Donation (SNOD’s).
- Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards working patterns.
- Willing to travel to both local and national meetings.
- Demonstrate expertise in communication and negotiation often under pressure and under strict timeframes.
A willingness and ability to undertake occasional travel and spend time away from base to meet the requirements of the post (with appropriate prior notice) is required for this position.

About You
Experience and Knowledge
- Experience of preparing written material and other correspondence to service users.
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm.
- Word processing, spreadsheet, and data management experience.
- Competence in the use of a PC and mainframe computer packages.
- Possess extensive experience in an office administrative role.
Qualifications And Training
- NVQ Level 3, or equivalent level qualification plus relevant practical experience.
- Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD)
