Health Innovation East (HIE) is seeking an experienced senior clinical leader to provide expert clinical advice and support to the delivery of a regional Type 1 Diabetes transformation programme. Working as part of the HIE team, the Clinical Advisor will offer independent clinical advice and insight to support the adoption of evidence-based innovation and improvements in care for people living with Type 1 Diabetes. The role will focus particularly on supporting implementation of Hybrid Closed Loop (HCL) technologies and engaging clinical stakeholders across the East of England to enable effective, equitable, and sustainable change but the role may require supporting other diabetes-related activity if appropriate.

Person Specification
Essential
- Registered healthcare professional (GMC, NMC, or HCPC).
- Consultant Diabetologist/Endocrinologist, Senior Diabetes Specialist Nurse, or equivalent senior clinical leader with significant experience in Type 1 Diabetes care.
- Strong understanding of current diabetes policy and clinical guidance, including Hybrid Closed Loop technologies.
- Experience of influencing and engaging stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and influence without direct authority.
- Ability to provide strategic clinical advice, balancing evidence, operational realities, and patient outcomes.

Desirable
- Experience of service transformation or quality improvement.
- Experience of regional or system-wide programmes.
- Knowledge of Integrated Care Systems and the wider NHS landscape.
Working Arrangements
- Sessional appointment.
- Fixed-term, secondment, or associate arrangement.
- Flexible hybrid working with occasional travel across the East of England.
- Remuneration commensurate with experience and seniority.
