Job Description
Role Overview
This post attracts a Recruitment and Retention premium of £2,500 per year.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Accredited Clinical Coding Auditor to play a key role in shaping the future of our Clinical Coding service. This is an exciting time to join the Trust as we move towards a new EPR system and embrace more digital and agile ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a passion for quality improvement.
- Act as a role model for excellence, supporting both day-to-day operations and the strategic development of the service.
- Manage the quality and performance targets assuring maximum accuracy and productivity levels within the Coding Team.
- Support areas of under achievement and work closely with lead clinicians to ensure that specialty level data is timely, standardized, and robust to support performance.
- Support the Head of Clinical Coding in developing and managing strategic plans for the department.
- Set up and perform internal coding audits, identifying variances against benchmarks, using tools such as CHKS to identify target areas.
- Participate in external exchange audits with other Trusts.
- Provide mentorship of trainee coders as appropriate and as agreed with the Head of Clinical Coding within the department’s quality framework.
