About the department
Our ENT and Maxillofacial service delivers specialist outpatient care, diagnostics, treatments, and minor procedures in a modern, consultant-led environment. Supporting some of the UK’s leading ENT Surgeons and Maxillofacial Consultants, the service is focused on providing patients with exceptional clinical outcomes and a seamless, reassuring experience from first appointment through to treatment and follow-up.
Working closely with consultants, nursing teams, patient administration colleagues, and multidisciplinary partners, the department combines clinical excellence with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Patient-centred care, effective coordination, and high governance standards underpin everything we do.
About the role
As a Clinical Coordinator & Clinical Governance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of ENT and Maxillofacial services. Acting as the senior nurse on duty within the department, you will provide day-to-day clinical leadership while ensuring exceptional standards of patient care, clinical governance, and operational performance.
Working closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager, consultants, and multidisciplinary colleagues, you will coordinate daily clinical operations, oversee patient flow, and support the delivery of outpatient consultations, diagnostic services, treatments, and minor procedures. You will act as a key point of contact for both patients and staff, helping to create a calm, organised, and responsive clinical environment.
Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you will lead governance and quality initiatives across the service. This includes coordinating audits, supporting quality improvement projects, maintaining risk registers, investigating incidents and complaints, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
You will also provide supervision, guidance, and development support to nursing and healthcare support staff, promoting a positive culture of learning, accountability, and patient safety.
This role is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse who enjoys combining hands-on patient care with leadership, operational coordination, and clinical governance responsibilities within a specialist outpatient setting.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
