At CVS Veterinary Group, our purpose is to provide the best possible care to animals. Our vision is to be the veterinary company people most want to work for.

We are an international integrated veterinary services provider which delivers to clients through four business areas; our veterinary practices, diagnostic laboratories, and e-commerce division. Our success is derived from the passion our people have for animals and for making pets a priority, it's what is at the heart of our work, every day.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Clinical Data Scientist to lead the application of analytics and health data science to support evidence-based veterinary medicine across CVS. Working closely with the clinical leadership, research, and Data & Technology teams, the role will transform veterinary clinical data into actionable insights to improve patient outcomes, clinical standards, operational effectiveness, and research capability.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing reporting solutions for relevant clinical colleagues to support teams and helping leadership to identify areas for improvement. The role will develop innovative analytical approaches using structured electronic health record data. The role will also support us in advancing our capabilities to analyse our unstructured clinical data through the application of machine learning, natural language processing, and predictive analytics.

They will support clinical improvement programmes, research studies, and strategic initiatives, whilst helping shape CVS's long-term clinical data strategy and analytical capabilities.

This is a remote position, with some travel to meetings.

What You'll Do

  • Support clinical improvement and clinical research, under the direction of the Director of Research & Data Science.
  • Lead the analysis of veterinary clinical datasets, including electronic health record (EHR) data from our unified practice management system, to generate actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain data visualisation dashboards for clinical improvement.
  • Develop and apply statistical, machine learning, and AI methodologies to support clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.
  • Analyse structured data and start us on the journey of exploring our unstructured clinical data, including free-text clinical notes.
  • Work with a range of clinical colleagues and clinical leadership teams, to understand data requirements and deliver innovative solutions aligned to our evolving clinical strategy and objectives.
  • Collaborate and contribute to the analysis and reporting for research and quality improvement projects.
  • Design, maintain, and optimise data models, analytical workflows, and reporting solutions.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear, impactful insights and recommendations for a range of stakeholders.
  • Ensure all analytical activities adhere to data governance, quality, and reproducibility standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
