An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated individual to join our supportive and progressive workplace within Barts Health NHS Trust at our Whitechapel site.

Home to London's Air Ambulance, The Royal London is also one of the capital's leading trauma and emergency care centres and hyper-acute stroke centres.

The Royal London Dental Hospital is part of Barts Health and is a leading specialist hospital for first-class dental and Oral Health care & provides clinical excellence in all aspects of dentistry.

Role Summary

The post holder will provide leadership to the Dental Nurse team on a daily basis, inspiring them with strong leadership, excellent clinical skills and a visible and exemplary commitment to patient-centeredness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Dental Nurse and the Matron to escalate department and staffing issues where appropriate
  • Carry out clinical dental nursing on a minimum of two days per week, ensuring credibility with the nursing team and role modelling excellent clinical nursing skills
  • Line manage the Senior Dental Nurses and an agreed number of Dental Nurses within the Postgraduate nursing team
  • Work closely with the Senior Dental Nurses to delegate a number of key operational tasks to the SDNs in the day-to-day operational management of clinical services
  • Represent their department at nurse management meetings and the clinical governance group, and will be expected to take responsibility for delivering agreed actions with nursing teams
  • Deputise for the Lead Dental Nurse in their absence
