Role Summary
The post holder will provide leadership to the Dental Nurse team on a daily basis, inspiring them with strong leadership, excellent clinical skills and a visible and exemplary commitment to patient-centeredness.

Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the Lead Dental Nurse and the Matron to escalate department and staffing issues where appropriate
- Carry out clinical dental nursing on a minimum of two days per week, ensuring credibility with the nursing team and role modelling excellent clinical nursing skills
- Line manage the Senior Dental Nurses and an agreed number of Dental Nurses within the Postgraduate nursing team
- Work closely with the Senior Dental Nurses to delegate a number of key operational tasks to the SDNs in the day-to-day operational management of clinical services
- Represent their department at nurse management meetings and the clinical governance group, and will be expected to take responsibility for delivering agreed actions with nursing teams
- Deputise for the Lead Dental Nurse in their absence
