Guthrie House Care Home

Guthrie House Care Home, located in Edinburgh, provides high quality Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Respite and Palliative Care in a warm and welcoming environment. Set in the peaceful surroundings of South East Edinburgh, the home is known for its compassionate approach, strong community spirit, and dedication to delivering exceptional care.

Clinical Deputy Manager Contract

  • £26.50 per hour
  • Full Time
  • Mainly Monday to Friday, with flexibility required to meet the needs of the home
  • Fully supernumerary
  • Paid NMC fees, DBS, pension and uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract

Working closely with the Home Manager, you will support the overall day to day leadership of the home while helping oversee clinical standards, team development and the delivery of safe, person centred care. This is a fully supernumerary role, mainly working Monday to Friday, although flexibility will be required to support the needs of the home.

We are looking for a strong Clinical Deputy Manager, ideally with previous care home experience. You will provide visible, hands on leadership, working alongside the nursing and care teams while maintaining professional boundaries and clinical oversight. You will support the team with care planning, medication management, clinical documentation, audits and compliance, ensuring high standards are consistently maintained.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced nurse qualified leader with a strong clinical background who is ready to take on greater responsibility within a senior leadership position. Whether you are an experienced Clinical Lead, Charge Nurse or existing Deputy Manager, your ability to lead with confidence, support others and maintain exceptional standards will directly influence the daily experience of residents, families and the wider team.

What Matters Most

  • Registered Nurse qualification with active NMC PIN is essential
  • Strong clinical background with previous experience as a Clinical Lead, Charge Nurse or Deputy Manager
  • Previous care home experience is highly desirable
  • Strong clinical knowledge with confidence supporting audits, care planning, medication management and clinical documentation
  • Ability to lead, mentor and support nursing and care teams while maintaining high standards of care
  • Confidence working alongside the team while maintaining clinical oversight and professional boundaries
  • Strong communication skills with confidence working alongside families, healthcare professionals and wider leadership teams
  • Professional, compassionate and dependable leadership approach with commitment to exceptional resident care
