Exciting Opportunity for a Clinical Education Fellow

We're thrilled to announce a brand-new opportunity for a LTFT (16 hours per week) fixed term Clinical Education Fellow post. Ideally, the successful candidate will have an interest in General Practice.

Role Overview

This role is tailor-made to support undergraduate teaching, offering a unique chance to shape the future of medical education. You'll be teaching medical students in the dynamic hospital environment while also providing mentorship to aspiring doctors. From phase 1 bedside teaching to phase 2 curriculum and assessment activities, you'll cover a wide array of topics, ensuring a diverse and engaging experience.

  • Facilitating medical student bedside teaching
  • Assisting with simulation training
  • Planning student activities
  • Delivering diverse teaching methods to undergraduates
  • Engaging with high-tech simulation equipment
  • Contributing to assessment and evaluation processes
  • Collaborating with the wider medical education team
  • Providing pastoral care for students

Essential Qualifications

  • Medicine Degree
  • GMC registration with a licence to practice
  • Two years post registration experience in an acute trust
  • Knowledge of teaching and programme development
  • Proficiency in the 23 GMC practical skills and procedures
  • Strong IT ability
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills

Continuous Professional Development

  • Engagement in audit and governance activities

Our services also include neonatology, specialist surgical care, and a wide range of diagnostics, supported by the new Community Diagnostic Centre at Whitehouse Health Centre.

Further investment is underway, including the construction of Oak Wards – a new ward block featuring two 24-bed wards – and the recently approved Women and Children’s Centre, set to open by 2030.
