Salary Range:
£74,203.00 - £103,587.00

Main duties and responsibilities

We are recruiting for x2 Clinical Educational Facilitator, part time is 0.185 WTE.
Problem based learning and clinical skills teaching
The post holder will:
- Prepare for and facilitate problem based learning (PBL) sessions, committing to all PBL and clinical skills sessions within a Programme term
- Prepare for and teach integrated clinical method (clinical communication skills and basic physical examination techniques)
- Work within the School structure and pedagogy to deliver the designated course material
- Attend briefing sessions prior to each teaching session
- Attend and contribute to tutor training sessions and Action Learning Sets
- Provide formative feedback to the PBL group and clinical skills group as a whole and to individual students within the groups throughout the academic year
- Complete relevant sections of the student portfolio and record of achievement, to include termly and annual student appraisals
- Provide summative feedback to students where indicated; for example, marking and giving feedback on reflective essays.
- Undertake the role of pastoral and academic personal tutor to students within the PBL group
- Participate in peer support and quality assurance processes including appraisal.
- Develop and review curriculum material

Assessment and Feedback
The post holder will:
- Contribute to all assessment processes including question writing, standard setting, production of assessment materials and acting as an examiner for face-to-face clinical assessments
- Contribute to other assessment processes within the School as needed
Admissions
The post holder will:
- Support the admissions team in recruitment of students to the MBBS 5-years and MBBS 6-years (with Gateway Year) programmes. This may include supporting widening participation schemes open days and interviewing processes

Additionally the post holder will be required to:
- Fulfil the employees’ duties described in the University’s health and safety policies and co-operate with the health and safety arrangements in place within the department. May be required to undertake specific health and safety roles on request e.g. Display screen equipment assessor, departmental safety officer, fire warden
