Clinical Fellow in Dermatology

Applicants are invited to apply for the full-time post of Clinical Fellow in Dermatology at Hammersmith Hospital. We are looking for an ambitious and dedicated individual, who would form an integral part of the Dermatology Team. The post is aimed at those with IMT2 level knowledge and skills, and the timetable is equivalent to that of an ST3 trainee in dermatology. The post provides an excellent opportunity to acquire general skills for those planning a career in dermatology, either via the Specialty Training route or Portfolio pathway.

About the Role

This is a busy department, with outpatient activity including General Dermatology and Skin Cancer clinics; specialist clinics at the Hammersmith Hospital site include Transplant, Photodynamic therapy, Lupus, Psoriasis, Cancer Genetics. A complex Medical Dermatology clinic runs monthly (virtual).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical work under the supervision of the Consultant team.
  • Conduct outpatient clinics.
  • Perform minor surgery.
  • Attend weekly skin cancer MDT meeting / Teledermatology meeting.
  • Perform urgent reviews of referrals from outpatient specialties and inpatient wards.
  • Participate in ward rounds.

Requirements

  • GMC registration
  • NHS experience
  • IMT2 experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Internal Medicine
  • Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP)
  • Ability to demonstrate commitment to Dermatology as a specialty
  • Previous dermatology experience is desirable
  • Strong team-working ethic and flexibility are essential

Dates

  • Start date: 15th October 2026
  • End date: 3rd August 2027
