Substantive Fellow in Medical Oncology
This post is for a 40 hours per week (full time) substantive fellow to support disease groups in Medical Oncology.
The post holder will be employed by The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and will be based at The Christie Withington site.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside consultants and trainees in outpatient clinics
- Supervise chemotherapy delivery
- Perform on-treatment reviews
- Perform inpatient reviews where appropriate
Managerial and Professional Accountability
- Managerially accountable to the Clinical Director of the Directorate of Medical Oncology
- Professionally responsible to the consultants in whose clinics they will be supporting and inpatients they are reviewing
Clinical Supervision
- The post-holder will be assigned a clinical supervisor (Consultant Medical Oncologist)
- They will work alongside their supervisor in at least one clinic

Role Requirements
- The postholder will contribute to the delivery of high quality consultant led care across 7 days
- This includes participation in planned weekend and weekday clinical activity to support safe, timely decision making & continuity of care for patients
