Clinical Lead – Elderly Care Nursing Service

Location: Chertsey, Surrey

Salary: £52,000 per annum

Qualification: RGN Required (Active NMC Pin Essential)


Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established provider of elderly care, who are seeking an experienced Clinical Lead to join the leadership team at one of their established nursing services in Surrey.


About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to take ownership of clinical standards, governance, and quality improvement within a supportive elderly care environment. The service provides nursing, dementia, and residential care and is looking for a strong clinical leader who can work closely with the wider management team to maintain high standards of care, support regulatory compliance, and continue developing the service.


The Role

As Clinical Lead, you will:

  • Provide strong clinical leadership and oversight across the service.
  • Work closely with the Home Manager and wider leadership team to support quality improvements.
  • Take responsibility for clinical governance, audits, and compliance processes.
  • Oversee medication management processes and ensure best practice is embedded.
  • Monitor clinical standards, care planning, and documentation.
  • Support the implementation of improvement plans and drive positive change.
  • Lead, coach, and develop nurses and care teams.
  • Promote a culture of openness, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, relatives, colleagues, and external professionals.

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • RGN qualification with an active NMC Pin.
  • Previous experience working within an elderly care nursing environment.
  • Experience working as a Clinical Lead, Clinical Deputy Manager, Nurse Manager, Senior Nurse, or similar senior clinical role.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, audits, and quality assurance.
  • Experience supporting regulatory compliance and CQC requirements.
  • Confidence managing medication governance and clinical standards.
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing nursing teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • A proactive, approachable, and hands-on leadership style.

Interview Process

  • Stage 1: Interview with the senior clinical leadership team
  • Stage 2: Final interview with operational and quality leadership
