Job Title: Advanced Practitioner

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join our Directorate at a time of service development and transformation.

Working alongside the Service Director, Clinical Director, and Medical Leadership Team, you will provide visible and credible clinical leadership across Community Hospitals, supporting our APs and trainee APs to develop and thrive. Working with senior clinical and operational colleagues, you will help shape our Advanced Practice workforce, strengthen governance and education, and ensure Advanced Practitioners are at the heart of developing high-quality patient care.

Working collaboratively with senior clinical and operational colleagues, the post holder will lead the development of robust governance, education, and development arrangements for Advanced Practice. They will support APs and tAPs to develop across the four pillars of Advanced Practice, providing clinical and educational supervision, mentorship, coaching, and pastoral support.

The post holder will maintain a visible clinical presence, undertaking regular advanced clinical practice within our inpatient physical health services and providing expert advice, leadership, and supervision to APs and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Developing and strengthening the Advanced Practice workforce across the directorate.
  • Supporting the education, supervision, and progression of APs and tAPs.
  • Developing robust governance and assurance arrangements for Advanced Practice.
  • Providing senior clinical leadership and maintaining regular clinical practice.
  • Leading and supporting quality improvement, audit, research, and evidence-based practice.
  • Contributing to workforce planning, recruitment, retention, and service development.
  • Working across professional and organizational boundaries to influence change and promote safe, effective care.
