We are pleased to be able to offer a twelve month fixed term opportunity for a Band 7 therapist to join our cross-site Frailty team as a Clinical Lead. This post is open to applications from HCPC registered Occupational Therapists or Physiotherapists with NHS experience who are ready to act as a lead expert therapist. Applicants must be able to demonstrate substantial post-registration experience across relevant healthcare settings and will have management skills including experience in clinical supervision, mentoring and day to day support of junior colleagues.
The successful applicant will be joining our highly regarded Frailty team. This well-established service works as an MDT providing admission avoidance services and therapy to prevent deconditioning and maximise independence in specialist areas of ED and short stay wards. We are proud to offer therapy to patients across 7 days a week and there will be a need for extended working hours of the therapy team to mirror the MDT.

Main duties of the job
This role involves assessing and treating patients with complex needs in an inpatient setting, using advanced physiotherapy skills.
- It includes planning and managing your own workload while supporting and guiding junior staff and students.
- You will work closely with the wider healthcare team to make sure patients receive safe, high-quality care and are discharged in a timely way.
- The job also includes taking part in research, audits and service improvement work to help develop the physiotherapy service.
- Strong communication skills are needed to explain difficult information to patients, families and colleagues.
- You will also help with the day-to-day running of the service and will need to work flexibly across both acute hospital sites.
