Clinical Lead GP | Minehead Medical Centre | Permanent, Full-time (40) or Part-time (Minimum 3 Days/30 Hours)
Are you an experienced GP with a passion for clinical leadership, service improvement, and developing high-performing primary care teams?
At Minehead Medical Centre, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead GP to work in partnership with the Business Manager and wider OneMedical Group team to help shape the future of this long-established and valued local service.
This is an exciting opportunity for a GP who wants to combine high-quality patient care with visible clinical leadership, supporting the practice through its next stage of development and playing a key role in its improvement journey.
As Clinical Lead GP, you will provide clinical leadership across the practice, supporting our multidisciplinary team, strengthening clinical governance, and helping to develop a sustainable, resilient, and patient-centred model of care.
Rated ‘Good’ by the CQC, the practice continues to invest in our people, our services, and the local community and is focused on continuous improvement and service development.
Based in the coastal town of Minehead, Somerset, close to Exmoor National Park and within easy reach of Bristol and Taunton, Minehead Medical serves a patient list of approximately 10,000 and is supported by a friendly team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care, where you could:

Your Role & Responsibilities
As Clinical Lead GP, you will divide your time between clinical delivery, clinical leadership, and service development.
Working closely with the Business Manager and supported by colleagues across One Medical Group, you will provide visible and approachable clinical leadership across the practice and help drive improvements in quality, safety, governance, and patient care.
You will also act as the practice's CQC Registered Manager, taking an active role in ensuring the service meets its regulatory and clinical governance responsibilities.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Clinical Leadership: Providing visible leadership, guidance, and mentorship across the multidisciplinary team.
- Quality & Governance: Acting as CQC Registered Manager and maintaining high standards of clinical governance, safety, and compliance.
- Team Development: Supporting the recruitment, development, and retention of clinical colleagues and promoting a culture of learning.
- Practice Improvement: Working with the Business Manager to drive service improvement and develop a sustainable primary care model.
- Clinical Delivery: Delivering high-quality planned and urgent primary care with a focus on continuity and compassionate patient care.
- Driving Excellence: Leading clinical meetings and supporting quality improvement, QOF, medicines management, and service development.
What We Are Looking For
- Registration: GMC Registered General Practitioner, on the GP Specialty Register, and on the Performers List.
- Experience: Significant experience working as a GP, with a genuine interest in clinical leadership and service improvement, as well as experience of, or a strong interest in, clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and patient safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across a multidisciplinary team.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to mentor, support, and develop colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills and a high level of clinical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong digital and clinical system literacy.
- A positive approach to change and service transformation.
- A commitment to the values and vision of OneMedical Group.

What We Offer
- Salary: Up to £120,000 per annum FTE (40 hours) dependent on experience
- NHS Pension: 20.6% employer contribution.
- Annual Leave: 30 days plus Bank Holidays (pro-rata), plus an extra day of leave awarded for every year of service.
- Protected CPD & Study Time: 10% of weekly working hours set aside for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), plus 5 days of study leave per annum (pro-rata).
- Support & Indemnity: Full indemnity cover provided for the hours worked.
- Relocation & Sponsorship: Relocation support may be available, alongside Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for eligible candidates.
