Job Opportunity: Experienced Older Adult Occupational Therapist

We are looking for an experienced Older Adult Occupational Therapist to join our Older Adult Inpatient Mental Health Service and Team. We are a small older adult team comprising of two other Occupational Therapists, an OTA and three Activity Co-ordinators.

Role Overview

The role is to lead and contribute to the delivery of effective and efficient Occupational Therapy and therapeutic activities within our three Older Adult Wards located in Warwick and Nuneaton.

Requirements

The post would suit someone with mental and physical health Occupational Therapy experience and competence, in acute and community settings.

  • Significant supervisory experience and a desire to develop others as well as the service is required.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills are key.
  • Quality improvement experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

The post holder will work clinically and in a clinical leadership capacity, in collaboration with the wider MDT team, and will be well supported by the AHP Service Lead and fellow AHP clinical specialists across our adult and older adult services.

  • To carry a clinical caseload of people with complex occupational needs.
  • To gather a broad range of information from a variety of sources.
  • To assess mental, physical and occupational strengths, needs and risks.
  • To formulate occupational needs and care plan and interventions accordingly.
  • To lead and develop the occupational therapy and activity staff.
  • Provide leadership in the management of equipment and resources.
  • To enable quality record keeping within the team, and provide necessary data, including maintenance and evaluation of a range of audit data.
