Are you an experienced Registered Nurse looking to take the next step into a senior clinical leadership position?

We are recruiting for a Clinical Lead to join an established nursing home near Exeter, offering a salary of £52,000 per annum with three supernumerary shifts each week, giving you dedicated time to lead, develop and support the clinical team.


This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Nurse, Senior Nurse or Clinical Lead who enjoys remaining clinically involved while having the time and autonomy to drive standards across the home.

The Role

As Clinical Lead, you will work closely with the Home Manager and wider clinical team to ensure residents receive safe, effective and person-centred care.

Your working week will be split between three supernumerary leadership shifts and two shifts working clinically on the floor, giving you a genuine balance between clinical leadership and hands-on nursing.

  • Providing clinical leadership and guidance to Nurses and Care staff
  • Supporting and developing the nursing team through coaching, supervision and training
  • Overseeing care plans, risk assessments and clinical documentation
  • Ensuring medication management and clinical procedures are completed safely
  • Leading on clinical audits, governance and continuous improvement
  • Supporting residents with a range of nursing and complex care needs
  • Working closely with GPs, healthcare professionals, residents and their families
  • Promoting high standards of safeguarding, dignity and person-centred care
  • Supporting the Home Manager with maintaining regulatory and compliance standards
  • Leading by example during your clinical shifts on the floor

What We're Looking For

  • Registered Nurse RGN or RMN
  • Valid UK NMC PIN
  • Previous experience within a nursing home or similar care environment
  • Strong clinical knowledge and confidence leading other healthcare professionals
  • Previous Senior Nurse or Clinical Lead experience would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding and care planning
  • A supportive, hands-on leadership style

Working Pattern

  • 5 shifts per week
  • 3 supernumerary shifts
