Clinical Lead – Paediatrics
Location: Hampshire
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (flexible shift pattern)
Salary: Up to £52,000 per annum (depending on experience, qualifications and skills)
About the Opportunity
A leading independent healthcare provider is seeking an experienced Clinical Lead – Paediatrics to join its dedicated clinical team within a modern private hospital in Hampshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Children's Nurse with strong leadership skills to play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding paediatric care, driving service development, and ensuring the highest standards of clinical governance and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and clinical leadership for paediatric and children's and young people's (CYP) services.
- Ensure services comply with all relevant regulatory, statutory and professional standards, including CQC, NMC and national paediatric guidance.
- Lead clinical governance, safeguarding initiatives and continuous quality improvement across paediatric services.
- Act as the senior clinical advisor for paediatric services, supporting operational and strategic service development.
- Oversee the safe admission, care and discharge of paediatric patients, ensuring evidence-based practice is consistently delivered.
- Lead safeguarding responsibilities for CYP services, working collaboratively with safeguarding colleagues to maintain robust processes.
- Manage and support the paediatric nursing team, including workforce planning, rota management and staff development.
- Drive service improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and ensure services continue to meet evolving healthcare standards.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
- Registered Children's Nurse (RN Child/RSCN) with current NMC registration.
- Significant post-registration paediatric nursing experience.
- Previous leadership or management experience within paediatric services.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding and quality assurance.
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage complex clinical situations and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Experience participating in audits, quality improvement and service development.

Desirable
- Postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Nursing, Leadership or Management.
- Experience within both NHS and independent healthcare environments.
- Safeguarding Children Level 4 qualification.
- Experience supporting or leading CQC inspections or equivalent regulatory assessments.
- Evidence of involvement in research, education or clinical innovation projects.
