Clinical Lead Physiotherapist - Stroke Services
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Physiotherapist to lead the future development of Stroke services at York. As Clinical Lead Physiotherapist, you will have the unique opportunity to influence service transformation, drive innovation across the stroke pathway and ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care that meets national standards and responds to the recommendations of recent a stroke peer review and national stroke strategy priorities.
We are looking for someone with a good grounding in the four pillars, who will be able to provide expert clinical leadership, driving excellence in patient care and supporting the continued development of our highly regarded stroke services. Based primarily in York, you will be collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and regional partners to ensure the highest standards of stroke rehabilitation and recovery.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible clinical leadership across stroke services, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based physiotherapy practice.
- Autonomously manage a highly complex caseload of stroke patients across the pathway.
- Lead the evaluation of clinical quality, patient outcomes, and service performance.
- Use highly specialist stroke rehabilitation skills to assess, treat, and advise patients with complex neurological presentations.
- Promote and embed evidence-based practice aligned to national stroke standards and guidance.
- Deliver training, supervision, and support to Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Support Workers, students, and wider MDT colleagues.
- Create a culture of learning, reflection, and professional development.
- Lead and contribute to audit, research, and quality improvement projects.
- Influence service redesign and innovation across stroke rehabilitation services.
- Act as a specialist resource for stroke rehabilitation across the organisation.
