Role
Help lead an independent small animal practice that knows excellent clinical care is built around a strong and supportive team.
We’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join Rose Cottage Veterinary Centre.
Our ethos is simple:
We support each other so we can show up at our best for our patients and clients.
The role
Working closely with me as director, you’ll take a leading role in developing our clinical team and standards.
You’ll have genuine autonomy to influence:
- Clinical standards and governance
- Vet development, mentoring and CPD
- Clinical protocols and continuous improvement
- Case discussions and clinical support
- Patient and client care
- The future direction of our clinical service
You’ll still be a hands-on vet, with a varied first-opinion caseload and the opportunity to develop your own clinical interests.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who you are is more important to us than what’s written on your CV. Skills can be developed. The right attitude and ethos are much harder to teach.
