Orthopaedic Clinical Leader
Tunbridge Wells Hospital | Theatre | Permanent | Full time
Up to £52,500.00 per annum, dependent on experience
37.5 hours per week

About the Role
We are looking for an Orthopaedic Clinical Leader for our Hospital to help us build a healthier nation. You’re registered with the appropriate governing body and you have the relevant qualifications and post-registration in surgery/anaesthetics experience, including as a Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner. With strong clinical leadership, you will guide your team with a shared vision, promoting innovation and sustainability. As a clinical leader, you will have good communication and organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team, knowledge and understanding of running a smooth & effective department and equipment is also essential.
Responsibilities
As an Orthopaedic Clinical Leader:
- Ensure the efficient running of the orthopaedic team, support and deputise for the Clinical Head of Department (as required).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all members of the MDT, Consultants, and Patients.
- Enthusiastic and motivated with a strong “can do” attitude that replicates your own desire to succeed.
- Co-ordinate activity and be responsible for patient care and safety.
- Be instrumental to the patient experience, ensuring seamless, personalised care.
- Apply your knowledge and skills in assessment, care planning, and delivery.
- Champion a supportive, enabling working culture on the ward, promoting staff safety and education.
- Have SFA or SCP experience.

As our Clinical Leader, you will:
- Conduct and organize the Orthopaedic Clinical and the wider team within theatre, which includes the smooth running of the theatre lists and organizing booking forms and assisting sessions in theatres.
- Work collaboratively and flexibly across the theatre suites to accommodate the service demands of each department, which include Endoscopy, General, Orthopaedics, Gynae, ENT, Recovery, and Anaesthetics.
- Promote effective clinical risk management and governance within the department, including safety and risk management, quality improvement, and ensure policies and procedures to enhance patient care and service delivery.
- Have extensive knowledge required for dealing with audits and equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of surgical techniques and associated equipment.
- Have ample opportunities for continuous growth and personal development.
