The Opportunity
A well-established and highly regarded specialist law firm is entering an exciting new phase of growth with the opening of a Birmingham office.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Clinical Negligence Fee Earner to join the team at an early stage and play a meaningful role in establishing and developing the firm's presence in the region.
The Birmingham office represents a significant investment and an opportunity to be part of something that is being built with long-term growth in mind. You will have the support, expertise and reputation of an established specialist practice behind you, while having the opportunity to help shape the culture, client base and success of the new location.
This role would suit someone who is ambitious, commercially aware and keen to take the next step in their career within a specialist clinical negligence environment.
The Role
As a Clinical Negligence Fee Earner, you will manage your own caseload of clinical negligence claims from initial instruction through to resolution, providing high-quality advice and support to clients throughout what can be a particularly challenging period in their lives.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of clinical negligence claims, including complex and high-value matters.
- Taking instructions and assessing the merits of potential claims.
- Conducting investigations and obtaining relevant medical records and expert evidence.
- Drafting statements of case, witness statements, schedules of loss and other legal documentation.
- Liaising with medical experts, barristers and other professional advisers.
- Negotiating with defendants, insurers and their legal representatives.
- Advising clients on prospects, strategy, funding and settlement.
- Progressing matters efficiently and in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering a consistently high standard of client care.
- Contributing to the continued development of the firm's clinical negligence offering in Birmingham.
- Supporting business development and networking activity where appropriate.
About You
We are looking for an experienced clinical negligence professional who is confident managing their own caseload and is looking for an opportunity with genuine scope for progression.

You will ideally have:
- Proven experience handling clinical negligence claims.
- Strong knowledge of relevant civil litigation procedure and clinical negligence law.
- Experience managing a caseload with appropriate autonomy.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- A client-focused approach and excellent communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a growing team.
- A commercial and proactive approach to developing your career and the firm's presence in Birmingham.
