Clinical Negligence Solicitor – Catastrophic Injury (Claimant) | Merseyside | Hybrid | 3+ Years' PQE

I'm working with a well-established, multi-office North West law firm with more than 200 colleagues across Merseyside and the Wirral. Starting out as a small Liverpool practice, the firm has grown into a respected regional name, known for its strong culture, clear values and genuine investment in developing its people. It's now strengthening its specialist Clinical Negligence team and looking for an experienced solicitor to join them.

The opportunity

This is a chance to lead a complex, high-value claimant caseload, including brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal injury, fatal claims, delayed diagnosis and surgical negligence. You'll act for seriously injured clients and their families, securing the compensation they need for long-term care, rehabilitation and support. The team wants a technically strong litigator who pairs sharp legal skills with real empathy for vulnerable clients.

Key responsibilities

Case management

  • Manage a caseload of complex claimant clinical negligence matters from first enquiry through to settlement or trial
  • Lead on high-value and catastrophic injury claims, including multi-million-pound cases
  • Develop and run litigation strategies that maximise client outcomes
  • Investigate liability, causation and quantum
  • Instruct and work with leading Counsel, medical experts and other professionals
  • Draft pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss and other key documents
  • Attend conferences, Joint Settlement Meetings, mediations, inquests and court hearings
  • Keep on top of limitation periods, procedural deadlines and case milestones

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
