Role: Clinical Negligence Solicitor / Lawyer
Location: Manchester [Hybrid available]
Salary: up to £50,000 [dependant on PQE and experience]
A well-established law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Clinical Negligence Lawyer to join its growing team. The firm has seen continued growth in its clinical negligence work and is looking for an additional lawyer who can confidently manage their own caseload while contributing to the wider success of the department.
This is a strong opportunity for an ambitious lawyer who wants to develop their technical expertise, take on increasing responsibility, and progress their career within clinical negligence.
The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of clinical negligence matters from initial instruction through to settlement or conclusion.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing your own caseload of clinical negligence claims
- Assessing liability, causation, and quantum
- Reviewing medical records and expert evidence
- Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and witness evidence
- Providing clear and practical advice to clients throughout their claim
- Negotiating settlements and progressing matters through litigation where required
- Liaising with medical experts, counsel, and other third parties
- Working collaboratively with colleagues on more complex matters
- Maintaining high standards of client care and case management
- Keeping up to date with relevant legal and procedural developments

About You
Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors, CILEx Lawyers, and experienced clinical negligence practitioners who can demonstrate a strong understanding of claimant clinical negligence work.
Ideally, you will have around up to 3 years' PQE or equivalent experience, although candidates outside this range may also be considered where they have the appropriate background.

You should be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience handling clinical negligence claims
- The ability to manage matters with an appropriate level of independence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Good technical and analytical ability
- A commercial and organized approach to case management
- Confidence dealing with clients in sensitive circumstances
- Empathy, professionalism, and excellent client-care skills
- A proactive approach to developing your career
A competitive salary of up to circa £50,000, dependent on experience, is available together with a performance-related bonus structure and wider benefits.
