Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

The postholder will be part of the Department of Neuropsychology, which is a large neuropsychology department providing an array of services within the neurosciences across a number of care pathways.

As part of a friendly, supportive and highly experienced team the postholder will be well supported in their role and have opportunities to develop their practice and undertake service relevant research.

The department works in partnership with the University of Bristol in the delivery of Clinical Neuropsychology training.

The department adopts a scientist-practitioner approach to clinical practice and we strive to provide the most patient-centred care possible.

The post is primarily in the General Outpatients Neuropsychology service offering neuropsychological assessments for diagnostic and treatment purposes and brief interventions across a wide range of clinical populations, including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, traumatic brain injury, hydrocephalus, and epilepsy.

Clinical Experience

Essential criteria

• Neuropsychology Experience- either as a trainee or as a qualified clinical psychologist
• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology

Desirable criteria

• Diploma in Neuropsychology

Education/Training/Qualifications

Essential criteria

• Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council

Desirable criteria

• An interest in developing towards entry to the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN)
