This post to cover maternity leave presents an exciting learning opportunity to work within our friendly, welcoming team to increase knowledge and understanding of patients diagnosed with bowel cancer; the pathways of treatment and caring for not only the patient, but their family and friends.
This post gives a valuable insight into the role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist.
We are looking for a skilled nurse with an understanding of caring for patients with colorectal cancer, who is enthusiastic, motivated, proactive, and autonomous in their practice. We are committed to providing a high-quality service and a supportive educational environment conducive to learning, which will ensure a good foundation for future practice.
Responsibilities
- Act as a key worker; delivering evidence-based, personalised care through holistic assessment, care planning, and evaluation of care through the running of nurse-led clinics for patients from diagnosis, through treatment, and follow-up. This might be via a clinic, inpatient, or remote follow-up setting.
- Work at an enhanced level to plan and provide clinical care and psychological support to patients with a cancer diagnosis who have complex needs.
