Are you looking for a specialist role, join the Bladder & Bowel Specialist Service in implementing the South Warwickshire University Foundation Trust values: safe, compassion, effective, inclusive, and trusted.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic clinician who is passionate about patients with continence issues. With health promotion being at the forefront of care delivery, we are a service which aims to achieve a positive difference to patients’ suffering from bladder and bowel dysfunction.

As a Clinical Practitioner

  • You will have proven organisational, management, and computer skills.
  • Lead and motivate the Bladder & Bowel Specialist team in delivering a holistic high quality of care.
  • Support patients, carers, and family members by assessing and developing individual plans of care, providing teaching, and initiating management strategies.
  • This would include pelvic floor exercise plans, bladder retraining, bladder scanning, bowel irrigation, reviewing plans, and liaising with other multi-disciplinary and multi-agency teams.

As a Clinical Role Model

  • You will be responsible for delivering bladder & bowel-based training to our community teams and other stakeholders.
  • We are a service looking to re-design and this is an exciting opportunity to assist in this development.

Support

  • You will be supported by use of local and national guidelines relating to continence care and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities of the Bladder & Bowel Specialist Nurse

  • Provide specialist advice and support to professionals, patients, and carers working within the health care economy.
  • Promote continence whenever applicable, and if not achievable, manage incontinence to a high standard.
  • Responsible for the assessment and management of the complex continence health needs of an identified population.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate care management.
  • Clinically supervise and provide support to a team of staff – being responsible for the development and competencies of staff within their team.
  • To include performance development reviews, clinical supervision, and recruitment and selection.
