Company Description
The Family Psychologist Ltd is a UK-wide Clinical Psychology and Assessment Service focused on providing clear, practical guidance to parents and families. Led by Chartered Clinical Psychologist Dr. Rachel McMorrow, the service draws on over 20 years of experience across health and education to support the behavioural, emotional, and social development of children from infancy through to young adulthood and into the workplace. The team offers a broad range of assessments and interventions, including dyslexia and specific learning difficulty assessments, cognitive profiling, and behavioural and emotional support at home and in school. Services also include early years parenting support around sleep, feeding, toileting, and separation anxiety, as well as assessment and diagnosis for ASC/ADHD in adults and children and speech and language assessments. The organisation works collaboratively with families and professionals to tailor support to individual needs in everyday environments such as homes, classrooms, and workplaces.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work full time on-site in Kidderminster as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting children, young people, adults, and families who access the service. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting clinical assessments within the scope of nursing practice, contributing to care planning, and delivering evidence-based interventions to support behavioural, emotional, and developmental needs. The role involves liaising closely with psychologists, speech and language therapists, educators, and other professionals, as well as providing psychoeducation and guidance to parents, carers, and service users. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will participate in multidisciplinary meetings, maintain accurate and timely clinical records, and support pathways for ASC/ADHD assessment and ongoing care. The post also includes duties related to safeguarding, quality improvement, and supporting service development in line with best practice and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse (e.g., NMC registration) with post-qualification experience in child, adolescent, family, or mental health settings.
- Clinical assessment and intervention skills, including comprehensive history-taking, risk assessment, care planning, and delivery of evidence-based psychosocial or behavioural interventions.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and across health, education, or social care services, with the ability to collaborate effectively with psychologists, therapists, and educators.
- Knowledge of child development, neurodevelopmental conditions (such as ASC/ADHD), and common emotional and behavioural difficulties in home and school environments.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex information clearly, engage sensitively with children, young people, adults, and families, and provide supportive guidance to parents and carers.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a clinical caseload, maintain detailed records, and meet service and regulatory requirements.
