Children’s Allergy Doctors is looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist in Paediatric Allergy and Immunology to join our friendly specialist team.
This employed position is for three weekdays per week, comprising:
- One weekday working at our clinic or, when no clinic is scheduled, working from home;
- Two weekdays working from home and managing clinical and administrative responsibilities; and
- One Saturday per month working at our clinic.
We are a leading private paediatric allergy practice, known for combining clinical excellence with a warm, family-centred approach. Every day, we help children and young people with allergies, eczema, asthma and related conditions receive the expert care and support they need to thrive.
🌈 What We Offer
- Employees receive 5.6 weeks of annual leave per year, inclusive of bank holidays. This entitlement is calculated on a pro rata basis for employees working part-time.
- Employees are also enrolled in the company pension scheme after three months of employment.
- This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Professor Helen Brough, a leading authority in paediatric allergy and clinical immunology. Professor Brough is actively involved in research, education and raising public awareness of childhood allergy. She also regularly contributes her expertise to national media.
Working alongside our consultant-led team, you will play an important role in delivering outstanding specialist care to children and families.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting and delivering specialist paediatric allergy clinics.
- Providing expert nursing care throughout clinic sessions.
- Liaising with families and responding to clinical administrative emails, tasks and telephone calls.
- Performing allergy investigations and diagnostic testing.
- Carrying out specialist allergy procedures, including:
- Skin prick testing;
- Spirometry and reversibility testing;
- Exhaled nitric oxide testing;
- Patch testing;
- Supervised feeds;
- Oral food immunotherapy; and
- Sublingual immunotherapy for aeroallergens and food allergies.
- Responding to patient and family queries following appointments.
- Completing allocated clinical and administrative tasks.
- Preparing clinics, including patient documentation, forms, labels, information leaflets and clinical notes.
- Providing cover for colleagues when required.
- Supporting the smooth running of the service and helping to create an exceptional patient experience.

We are looking for someone who combines clinical expertise with warmth, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children and families.
Ideally, you will have:
- Significant experience as a paediatric nurse, preferably within paediatric allergy and immunology.
- Experience of caring for children with allergic conditions and eczema.
- Confidence in performing allergy diagnostic tests and procedures, or relevant transferable skills and a willingness to develop specialist expertise.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people and their families.
- A calm, organized and proactive approach.
- The ability to work independently while remaining a valued member of a close-knit team.
- A positive and flexible approach, with a willingness to contribute wherever needed.
- Most importantly, we are looking for someone who genuinely cares about improving outcomes for children living with allergies and atopic conditions.
Essential Skills and Experience
Applicants must have:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Appropriate experience as a paediatric nurse.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent telephone and email communication skills.
- A sensitive and professional approach when communicating with patients, parents and healthcare professionals.
- The ability to work independently, use initiative and complete tasks.
- Good Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel skills.
- The right to work in the United Kingdom.

🏡 Home Working
As part of this role is home-based, you will need to provide, at your own cost, a suitable private workspace, computer or laptop, fast and reliable internet connection, printer and scanner, paper shredder and lockable storage for confidential documents.
You will be responsible for the costs associated with working from home. The practice will provide the required stationery and consumables, antivirus protection and an internet-based telephone, if required.
Confidentiality and Data Security
Your workspace must be private and suitable for handling confidential patient information. Your computer or laptop must be password-protected, kept secure and not shared with anyone else.
Confidential information must not be visible or accessible to household members or visitors. Any printed patient information must be stored securely when not in use and disposed of using a paper shredder when no longer required.
Practice and patient information must only be accessed, stored and handled in accordance with the practice’s data protection, confidentiality and information security policies.
