PEG Support Nurse Recruitment
We are looking to recruit a PEG Support Nurse to work within the PEG service within Gastroenterology in the Medicine Division.
About the Team
The team consists of 1 X WTE PEG Specialist Nurse with Gastroenterology Consultant support.
About the Role
The successful candidate must be a highly motivated and organised individual, who can communicate effectively. You will be expected to work well independently and as part of a team to ensure high quality of patient care.
This role is an ideal starting position for anyone who wants to develop their nursing skills within the PEG team. The role will be based across Monday-Friday 9-5pm.
Key Responsibilities
The Nurse Specialist will provide support for the patient and family requiring a PEG through treatment and throughout the care journey. Using advanced communication and psychological assessment skills the CNS will aim to assess and alleviate the psychological distress for PEG patients and their families, including identification of need for onward referral to other agencies and disciplines as appropriate.
