Clinical Operations Manager
Location: Northeast & Yorkshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid with regular travel across operational sites
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £50K
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Operations Manager to lead the delivery of a large-scale Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Assessment Service across the North of England.
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring contractual performance targets are achieved, operational teams are effectively managed, and service users receive a high-quality assessment experience. Working across a multi-site environment, you will partner closely with clinical, quality, governance, and client stakeholders to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and outstanding contract performance.
Leading a team of operational managers and support functions, you will play a key role in shaping service delivery, driving performance, managing change, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality service across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of a large-scale healthcare assessment contract, ensuring performance targets and service standards are consistently achieved.
- Work closely with senior leadership teams to deliver contractual KPIs and operational objectives.
- Drive service improvements by reviewing operational processes, identifying efficiencies, and implementing best practice.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted operational partner.
- Prepare and present operational performance updates, action plans, and service improvement initiatives to senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership teams to ensure operational and clinical priorities remain aligned.
- Support quality, governance, compliance, and health & safety requirements across multiple sites.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of operational managers and support staff.
- Oversee performance management, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
- Lead organizational change programs, ensuring successful implementation and adoption across the business.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate operational risks, escalating issues where appropriate.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience managing large-scale healthcare, disability assessment, occupational health, NHS, or outsourced public sector services.
- A proven track record of delivering against demanding contractual KPIs and service targets.
- Experience leading operational teams across multiple locations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging clients and senior leadership teams.
- Experience driving service improvement, organizational change, and operational transformation initiatives.
- Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities, using data and insight to improve performance and outcomes.
- Demonstrable experience managing large-scale contracts or complex service environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Knowledge of PIP, DWP, healthcare assessment services, or other regulated healthcare environments would be highly advantageous.
