Pulse Mental Health is currently recruiting for an experienced Band 7 / Band 8a Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist to join a mental health team in Oldham, Greater Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychologist looking to make a meaningful difference by delivering evidence-based talking therapies to adults with complex mental health needs.
Based within a well-established NHS setting, this role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse caseload while developing your clinical expertise alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities
As a Clinical Psychologist / Counselling Psychologist, you will:
- Deliver high-quality psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based talking therapies to adults with complex mental health presentations.
- Manage your own caseload and provide person-centred interventions tailored to individual needs.
- Develop and implement treatment plans designed to support recovery and improve psychological wellbeing.
- Utilise a range of therapeutic approaches appropriate to patient needs.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure integrated and effective care.
- Complete clinical documentation, reports, and risk assessments in line with professional standards.
- Contribute to care planning, clinical discussions, and service development initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of clinical governance and professional practice.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
- Experience delivering psychological therapies to individuals with complex mental health needs.
- Experience completing psychological assessments, formulations, and treatment planning.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and report-writing skills.
Desirable
- Previous NHS experience.
- Experience working within adult mental health services.
- Knowledge of a range of evidence-based therapeutic models.
- Experience working at Band 7 or Band 8a level.
