LSCFT’s adult mental health services are designed to meet the holistic needs of service users/patients and carers, in a working environment conducive to staff development and wellbeing.
Moorgate Ward
Moorgate Ward is an 8-bedded male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The post holder will work in collaboration with the ward manager, and other team members within the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will work a flexible shift pattern including weekend working, providing day-to-day clinical leadership to the direct care team.
About the Role
Are you an experienced and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse ready to take the next step in your career?
We are looking for a skilled Clinical Practitioner to join Moorgate Ward, our 8-bedded male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit at The Harbour. This will be a 3-month secondment.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, safe and therapeutic care to people with acute mental health needs, while providing day-to-day clinical leadership to the wider team.

Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, safe, and therapeutic care to people with acute mental health needs.
- Provide day-to-day clinical leadership to the wider team.
- Manage risk and support staff.
- Work across professional boundaries.
- Contribute to service development.
Requirements
- Registered Mental Health Nurse with substantial inpatient mental health experience.
- Strong clinical judgement.
- Passion for improving outcomes for patients and carers.
- Confidence in managing risk, supporting staff, working across professional boundaries, and contributing to service development.
- Ability to combine clinical credibility with kindness, resilience, and a commitment to least restrictive, person-centred care.
