Clinical Project Manager - Oncology
Are you an experienced Clinical Project Manager with a strong oncology background and a track record of managing international clinical trials? Our client is a global, full-service Contract Research Organisation supporting innovative clinical development programmes worldwide. Due to continued growth, the company is looking for a UK-based Project Manager to lead international oncology studies from start-up through close-out.
Your responsibilities
- Take end-to-end ownership of regional and global clinical studies
- Lead projects from feasibility and study start-up through execution and close-out
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Biometrics, Medical, Pharmacovigilance and Vendor Management
- Act as the primary sponsor contact, leading governance meetings, project updates and issue resolution
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, risk registers and study-tracking tools
- Manage project budgets, revenue forecasts, profitability, resources and change orders
- Oversee site selection, activation, recruitment, monitoring and close-out activities
- Monitor enrolment and site performance, implementing corrective actions where required
- Identify operational and financial risks and establish appropriate mitigation plans
- Oversee external vendors and ensure timely, high-quality delivery
- Maintain compliance with study protocols, ICH-GCP, international regulations and internal procedures
- Ensure inspection and audit readiness throughout the study lifecycle
- Support feasibility assessments, bid-defence activities and operational improvements
- Mentor junior project team members and promote accountability across study teams

Your profile
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline
- At least four to five years of clinical study or project management experience in oncology
- Experience managing Phase II and Phase III oncology trials is strongly preferred
- Proven experience leading international or multi-country studies, rather than exclusively local trials
- Previous experience within a CRO, ideally managing studies for multiple sponsors
- Demonstrated ownership of clinical trials from start-up through close-out
- Strong sponsor-facing experience, including leading client meetings and managing expectations
- Experience managing budgets, timelines, resources, forecasting, risks and change orders
- Comprehensive understanding of clinical operations and the complete trial lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP and international regulatory requirements
- Experience using clinical trial systems such as CTMS and eTMF
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
- Based in the United Kingdom with the right to work in the UK
