Are you an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist who is looking to work in a dedicated team?

An opportunity has arisen to join the Adult Psychology Service within Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. The job is based with Bournemouth East CMHT, Kings Park Hospital.

About the Role

As a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, you will be solely accountable and responsible for the direct delivery of psychological services to adults with significant mental illness/disorder. You will be skilled in assessment, formulation, and in the delivery of appropriate highly specialised psychological therapies, where highly complex facts must be considered, and where expert opinion may differ. You will provide highly specialised advice to clients, their families, and carers where appropriate, and to the wider multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct delivery of psychological services to adults with significant mental illness/disorder.
  • Skilled in assessment, formulation, and delivery of highly specialised psychological therapies.
  • Provide highly specialised advice to clients, their families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Undertake clinically relevant research and audit evaluation.
  • Supervise the research & development activities of Assistants and Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
  • Develop highly specialised programmes of care.
  • Share sensitive information with clients, their carers, and other professionals.
  • Receive regular highly specialised supervision in line with good practice guidelines.

Requirements

  • Clinical or Counselling Psychologist qualification.
  • Experience in highly specialised psychological therapies.
  • Ability to handle highly complex facts and situations.
  • Skilled in assessment, formulation, and therapy delivery.
  • Ability to share sensitive information with various stakeholders.
  • Willingness to engage in research and supervision activities.

Working Conditions

  • Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week.
  • Location: Based with Bournemouth East CMHT, Kings Park Hospital.
  • Flexible working: Available.
