About the Role
Are you an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist who is looking to work in a dedicated team? An opportunity has arisen to join the Adult Psychology Service within Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. The job is based with Poole CMHT, Alderney Hospital, Ringwood Road, Poole.
As a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist you will be solely accountable and responsible for the direct delivery of psychological services to adults with significant mental illness/disorder. You will be skilled in assessment, formulation, and in the delivery of appropriate highly specialised psychological therapies, where highly complex facts must be considered, and where expert opinion may differ. You will provide highly specialised advice to clients, their families, and carers where appropriate, and to the wider multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- Provide highly specialised psychological therapies to adults with significant mental illness/disorder.
- Offer expert advice to clients, their families, and carers.
- Work with a range of skilled professionals who are all passionate about working with adults.
- Develop highly specialised programmes of care.
- Share sensitive information with clients, their carers and other professionals.
- Undertake clinically relevant research and audit evaluation.
- Supervise the research & development activities of Assistants and Trainee Clinical Psychologists.

Working Environment
The Adult Psychology Service is committed to supporting its staffs development by providing high quality training and supervision opportunities as well as regular opportunities for staff to connect, support and learn from each other.
Job Details
- Hours: 22.5 hours per week (part-time)
- Flexible working: Available
- Supervision: Regular highly specialised supervision

- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (cost covered by the Trust)
